Soccer Game Preview: Meridian/Sangamon Valley/Central A&M vs. Tolono Unity

The Meridian/Sangamon Valley/Central A&M Hawks will face off against the Tolono Unity Rockets at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Tolono Unity took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Meridian/Sangamon Valley/Central A&M, who comes in off a win.

While Meridian/Sangamon Valley/Central A&M's win against St. Teresa wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Hawks had just enough and edged out the Bulldogs 2-1 on Tuesday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Meridian/Sangamon Valley/Central A&M.

Meanwhile, Tolono Unity was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They came up short against Monticello, falling 6-2. The match was a 1-1 toss-up at halftime, but Tolono Unity couldn't quite close it out.

Matthew Hollett and Javy Zavala scored both of Tolono Unity's goals, bringing their combined season tally to nine goals.

Tolono Unity's defeat dropped their record down to 2-11-2. As for Meridian/Sangamon Valley/Central A&M, their victory bumped their record up to 14-5-2.
