Basketball Recap: Dillon Takes a Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Dillon can now relate to. They lost to the Keenan Raiders on the road by a 64-46 margin on Thursday. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 100th, while the Raiders are ranked 18th).

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Keenan to victory, but perhaps none more so than Brian Sumpter, who dropped a double-double with 17 points and ten boards. Another player making a difference was Antoine Caughman Jr, who went 5-for-9 on his way to 15 points and seven assists.

Dillon's loss dropped their record down to 14-9. As for Keenan, their win was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 19-8.

Dillon does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Keenan, they will head out on the road to square off against Oceanside Collegiate Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. One thing working in Keenan's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last 18 matchups.
