Recap: McLean County Cougars vs. Breathitt County Bobcats

The McLean County Cougars scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Saturday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 75-72 victory over Breathitt County. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.

Breathitt County's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Austin Sperry, who scored 20 points along with nine assists and eight rebounds. Another player making a difference was Isaac Bellamy, who scored 25 points.

McLean County pushed their record up to 12-2 with that victory, which was their tenth straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.2 points per game. As for Breathitt County, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-4 record this season.

McLean County will look to defend their home court on Friday against Trinity at 6:00 p.m. Trinity is coming into the contest on a six-game losing streak. As for Breathitt County, they will head out on the road to face off against Perry County Central at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
