Basketball Recap: Roy Berry's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Pathways over Bishop Moore

After flying high against Creation Village World on Friday, Pathways came back down to earth. The Eagles took a hard 61-44 fall against the Bishop Moore Hornets on Tuesday. The matchup marked the Eagles' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Pathways lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Roy Berry, who shot 83% from the field en route to 12 points. He has also been stellar as far as field goal percentage is concerned: he's posted one of at least 50% every time he's hit the court this season. Another player making a difference was Shabiah Gordon, who posted six points along with five rebounds and three blocks.

Tre Mathis had an outrageously good game for Bishop Moore as he went 8-for-13 on his way to 20 points and four steals. The dominant performance also gave Mathis a new career-high in boards (four). Herman Collins was another key player, putting up ten points.

Having lost for the first time this season, Pathways fell to 4-1.

Looking ahead, Pathways will square off against Altamonte Christian at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Bishop Moore, they have already played their next game, a 58-53 loss against Southeastern Prep Academy on the 19th.
