After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Grafton, Elkins was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They were the clear victors by a 13-4 margin over the Pendleton County Wildcat. The Tigers haven't had any issues with the Wildcat recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.
Elkins got a big performance out of Braden Cooper, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one run. That's the most RBI Cooper has posted since back in March. Blayne Thompson was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs.
Elkins always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .541. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in three consecutive games.
