Varela won the last time they faced MAST Academy and things went their way on Thursday too. The Varela Vipers claimed a resounding 65-31 victory over the MAST Academy Makos. The Vipers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five games by 25 points or more this season.

Alex Perez was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 15 points and 11 boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Aaron Reyes, who posted nine points along with five rebounds and five steals.

Varela has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 8-5 record this season. As for MAST Academy, they dropped their record down to 0-8 with the defeat, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season.

Varela will host Mater Brickell Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. MAST Academy has already played their next contest (against Coral Shores), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
