Softball Game Preview: St. Mary Catholic Central Falcons/Kestrels vs. Carlson Marauders

The St. Mary Catholic Central Falcons/Kestrels are taking a road trip to challenge the Carlson Marauders at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. St. Mary Catholic Central's pitching crew has only allowed 3.8 runs per game this season, so Carlson's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

St. Mary Catholic Central will roll into the game after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up two runs on Monday, then bounced right back against Grosse Ile on Thursday. The Falcons/Kestrels' pitchers stepped up to hand the Red Devils a 15-0 shutout. The Falcons/Kestrels haven't had any issues with the Red Devils recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive victory against them.

Meanwhile, Carlson unfortunately witnessed the end of their nine-game winning streak on Tuesday. They took a 7-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of Huron.

Kiley Lewandowski was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.

Carlson's defeat dropped their record down to 18-11. As for St. Mary Catholic Central, their win bumped their record up to 16-5.

St. Mary Catholic Central skirted past Carlson 7-6 in their previous matchup back in May of 2024. Do the Falcons/Kestrels have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Marauders turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
