Basketball Game Preview: Beach Bulldogs vs. Long County Blue Tide

The Beach Bulldogs will challenge the Long County Blue Tide at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Beach has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.

Beach took a loss when they played away from home on Wednesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They walked away with a 58-48 win over Johnson.

Beach found their leader in sophomore Jordan Newton, who dropped a double-double with 25 points and 13 boards. Thanks to that strong game, Newton now owns an excellent 57.1% field goal percentage. The team also got some help courtesy of Chandler Reid, who went 5 of 10 to rack up 11 points in addition to eight rebounds and six assists.

Meanwhile, Long County was fully in charge on Saturday, breezing past Southeast Bulloch 73-44. The Blue Tide have beaten the Yellow Jackets the last four times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Yellow Jackets has come to flipping the script.

Long County's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-13. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.0 points over those games. As for Beach, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a massive bump to their 13-12 record this season.

Beach won a match that couldn't have been any closer in their previous meeting back in December of 2024, slipping by Long County 47-46. Will Beach repeat their success, or does Long County have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
