Softball Recap: Seneca Valley Find Success

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Gaithersburg, Seneca Valley was happy to have turned things around on Saturday. Everything went their way against the Watkins Mill Wolverines as they made off with a 29-8 victory. The Screaming Eagles haven't had any issues with the Wolverines recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive win against them.

Maggie Harrison was incredible, firing off three home runs, five runs, and two stolen bases while getting on base in all six of her plate appearances. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in RBI (five). Another player making a difference was Ella Simon, who got on base in all six of her plate appearances with five runs, four RBI, and one stolen base.

Seneca Valley always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .846. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Seneca Valley's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-7. As for Watkins Mill, their loss dropped their record down to 0-7.

Looking ahead, Seneca Valley will welcome Damascus at 3:45 p.m. on Monday. The Screaming Eagles' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Swarmin' Hornets have averaged an impressive 11 runs per game this season. As for Watkins Mill, they will head out on the road to take on Poolesville at 3:45 p.m. on Monday.
