Softball Recap: Beyer Now 15-2 over Last 17 Games

There's no place like home for Beyer, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Monday. Everything went their way against the Lathrop Spartans on Wednesday as they made off with a 12-1 win. The result was nothing new for the Patriots, who have now won 12 matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

The team relied heavily on Mackenzie Hough, who went 3-for-4 with two doubles and two RBI. Those two doubles gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of AnnMarie Scott, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one triple.

Beyer always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .519. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Lathrop only posted an OBP of .118.

Beyer is on a roll lately: they've won 15 of their last 17 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for Lathrop, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last seven contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-12 record this season.
