Softball Recap: South River Wins Going Away Against Mother Seton

South River entered their tilt with Mother Seton on Monday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They blew past the Setters 21-6. The game marked the Rams' most dominant victory of the season so far.

The team relied heavily on Leigha Borusovic, who scored four runs and stole three bases while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. Borusovic is also crushing it when it comes to RBI: she's brought in at least three every time she's taken the field this season. Another player making a difference was Reese Rega, who went 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple.

South River kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 13 hits in three consecutive matches.

South River pushed their record up to 3-1 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.3 runs over those games. As for Mother Seton, they are on a six-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-5.

South River will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Setters: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
