Basketball Recap: Friday's Defeat Ends Tift County's Winning Streak

After a string of six wins, Tift County's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They took a 38-26 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Richmond Hill Wildcats. The game marked the Blue Devils' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

Tift County's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Kaden Lawson, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 12 rebounds, and Cordell Nelson, who posted no points in addition to 14 boards and six blocks. Those 14 rebounds gave Nelson a new career-high.

Tift County's loss dropped their record down to 15-6. As for Richmond Hill, they moved to 8-12 with that victory, which also ended their four-game losing streak.

Tift County wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 43-42 win against Lowndes on the 1st. As for Richmond Hill, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 67-56 victory against Glynn Academy on the 1st.
