Softball Game Preview: Northwestern Regional Highlanders vs. Canton Warriors

The Northwestern Regional Highlanders will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against the Canton Warriors at 3:45 p.m. on Friday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Northwestern Regional is coming home looking for redemption after taking a loss in their road opener. They lost 9-2 to Nonnewaug on Thursday. Sadly, the loss continues a streak the team started last season, making it four in a row.

Meanwhile, Canton fell victim to Ellington and their airtight pitching crew on Wednesday. They came up short against the Knights, falling 9-0.

Northwestern Regional beat Canton 10-5 in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Will the Highlanders repeat their success, or do the Warriors have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
