Softball Recap: Spanish Fork Dons vs. Bingham Miners

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Desert Hills, Spanish Fork was happy to have turned things around on Saturday. They walked away with a 6-3 win over the Bingham Miners. The victory continues a trend for the Dons in their matchups with the Miners: they've now won three in a row.

Anaca Olsen tossed a big game, tossing five innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off seven hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Audrey Overturf was excellent, going 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and two runs. Overturf is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: she's snagged at least one every time she's taken the field this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Leila Donegan, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Spanish Fork always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .545. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Bingham only posted an OBP of .375.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Spanish Fork will head out to face off against Salem Hills at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Bingham, they are taking a road trip to take on Mountain Ridge at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
