Baseball Recap: Avon Grove Comes Up Short

Wednesday just wasn't the day for Avon Grove's offense. They fell 4-0 to the Bayard Rustin Golden Knights on Wednesday. If the Red Devils were looking for revenge after losing 9-3 to the Golden Knights when the teams met back in April of 2025, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Cole Marshall was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out six batters over 4.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off two hits.

On the hitting side, Avon Grove saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Logan Nelson, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base. Nelson has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last six times he's played.

Avon Grove dropped their record down to 2-7 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight at home. As for Bayard Rustin, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 3-3.
