Apprentice Academy extends road losing streak to 17

Recap: Apprentice Academy Red Wolves vs. Piedmont Community Charter Patriots

This season hasn't been kind to the Apprentice Academy Red Wolves, who are still winless after their seventh match. They had to suffer through a rough 92-35 loss at the hands of Piedmont Community Charter. Apprentice Academy has struggled against Piedmont Community Charter recently, as their contest on Tuesday was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.

Apprentice Academy's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Radear Watson, who scored 14 points along with two steals and two blocks. That was a full 40% of Apprentice Academy's points, marking the fifth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ayden Eddington, who scored 11 points along with two blocks.

Piedmont Community Charter's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was TJ Biggers, who scored ten points along with three steals. That's the first time this season that Biggers grabbed two or more steals. Bobby Erwin was another key contributor, scoring ten points.

Apprentice Academy's loss was their 17th straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 0-7. As for Piedmont Community Charter, the win (which was their ninth in a row) raised their record to 12-3.

Apprentice Academy will head out on the road to face off against Sugar Creek at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Sugar Creek is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 55 points per game. As for Piedmont Community Charter, they will stay at home for another game and welcome Carolina International at 7:30 p.m. on January 23rd.
