Recap: Delta Panthers vs. Coal Ridge Titans
The Delta Panthers lost to the Coal Ridge Titans back in February of 2023, but the Delta Panthers didn't allow the Coal Ridge Titans the same satisfaction on Saturday. Delta enjoyed a cozy 66-51 victory over Coal Ridge. The win made it back-to-back wins for Delta.
Delta was led to victory by Erik Baier and Tucker Johnson. Baier scored 16 points along with six rebounds, while Johnson dropped a double-double on 19 points and 11 rebounds. Johnson has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last three times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Clayton Cryer, who scored 11 points.
Coal Ridge lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Ben Simons, who scored seven points along with 11 rebounds and three steals. Simons is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last five games he's played. Another player making a difference was Gio Ervin, who scored seven points along with seven rebounds.
Delta's victory bumped their record up to 4-6. As for Coal Ridge, they now have a losing record at 5-6.
Coincidentally, both teams will both be playing Rifle the next time they take the court. Delta will head out to face Rifle at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, while Coal Ridge will host them at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
