Soccer Game Preview: Bastrop vs. Navarro

Bastrop is 4-0 against Navarro since February of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Bastrop Bears will look to defend their home pitch against the Navarro Vikings at 7:45 p.m. Bastrop will be strutting in after a victory while Navarro will be coming in after a defeat.

Bastrop took a loss when they played away from home on Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They beat Cedar Creek by a goal, winning 2-1.

Meanwhile, Navarro was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They lost 3-0 to Richards School for Young Women Leaders. While losing is never fun, the Vikings can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 573rd, while Richards School for Young Women Leaders are ranked 218th).

Bastrop's win bumped their record up to 5-7. As for Navarro, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-5-2.

Bastrop took their victory against Navarro in their previous matchup back in March of 2016 by a conclusive 10-0. Does Bastrop have another victory up their sleeve, or will Navarro turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
