Softball Recap: Conway Extends Winning Streak to Three

Conway waltzed into their contest on Wednesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They were the clear victors by a 12-1 margin over the Andrews Yellowjackets. With that win, the Tigers brought their scoring average up to 6.2 runs per game.

Olivia Drew made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out eight over six innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in March. She was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one double and one RBI. She is on a roll when it comes to hits, as she's now got three or more in each of the last three games she's played.

In other batting news, Conway let Brandy Smith and Anna Dorman run wild. Smith went 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI, while Dorman went 1-for-4 with one home run and two RBI. That's the most RBI Dorman has posted since back in March. Cayden Black was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two runs and one double.

Conway was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. They are a perfect 9-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Conway's record now sits at 15-9. As for Andrews, their loss dropped their record down to 11-4.

Conway has already played their next game, a 13-2 victory against Waccamaw on the 1st. As for Andrews, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next match, a 5-2 defeat against Georgetown on the 1st.
