Baseball Recap: St. Maries Comes Up Short on the Road Against Priest River

St. Maries had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They took an 8-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Priest River Spartans on Friday. The Lumberjacks were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Spartans apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in May of 2024.

St. Maries saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kaiden McMurrian, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one stolen base.

Coincidentally, St. Maries and Priest River will both be playing Orofino the next time they take the field. Priest River will head out to face Orofino at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, while St. Maries will host them at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
