Soccer Game Preview: Minooka vs. York

The Minooka Indians will take on the York Dukes in a tournament on Thursday. Minooka will be strutting in after a win while York will be coming in after a loss.

York better have a healthy lead at halftime, because if Minooka's game on Tuesday is any indication, that's when Minooka really gets things going. The Indians blew past Plainfield East 3-0. Considering Minooka have won five matches by more than two goals this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Meanwhile, York entered their game against Benet Academy on Friday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Dukes fell just short of the Redwings by a score of 1-0. York just can't catch a break and have now endured three defeats in a row.

York's loss dropped their record down to 4-4-2. As for Minooka, their victory bumped their record up to 9-3-2.

Minooka came up short against York in their previous meeting back in April of 2017, falling 3-1. Can the Indians avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
