Baseball Recap: Bishop Carroll Comes Up Short

Bishop Carroll lost against Bald Eagle Area back in May of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Huskies lost 13-3 to the Eagles. The Huskies have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Cory Franceschini was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. He is becoming a predictor of Bishop Carroll's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 2-1 (and 0-11 when he doesn't).

Bishop Carroll's loss dropped their record down to 2-12. As for Bald Eagle Area, with the victory, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 4-9.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bishop Carroll will host Blacklick Valley at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Vikings will roll in looking for their 14th straight win, something the Huskies surely won't give up without a fight. As for Bald Eagle Area, they will take on Mifflin County at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Huskies' pitching crew has only allowed 2.7 runs per game this season, so the Eagles' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
