Fairview was not the first on the board on Saturday, but they got there more often. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-3 win over the Napoleon Wildcats. This was a revenge game for the Apaches: when they faced off against the Wildcats on Saturday, they had to take a 11-8 defeat.

Lilly Warner spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on five hits and racked up seven Ks.

On the hitting side, Sammy Mavis was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two runs and one RBI. Samantha Coolman also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Fairview is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-8 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.0 runs over those games. As for Napoleon, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-8-1 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Fairview will take on Wayne Trace at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Napoleon, they will face off against Perrysburg at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
