Baseball Game Preview: Lincoln Railsplitters vs. Champaign Central Maroons

The Lincoln Railsplitters will venture away from home to challenge the Champaign Central Maroons at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a three-game winning streak alive.

Lincoln is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Wednesday. They put the hurt on Centennial with a sharp 14-4 win.

Meanwhile, while Champaign Central put up plenty of runs on Wednesday, the same can't be said for Urbana. The Maroons blew past the Tigers 13-0. The Maroons might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 19 contests by six runs or more this season.

Champaign Central's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 23-12-1. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games. As for Lincoln, the victory got them back to even at 16-16.

Lincoln might still be hurting after the 15-0 loss they got from Champaign Central in their previous meeting back in April. Can the Railsplitters avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
