Volleyball Recap: Woodruff Comes Up Short

After flying high against Greer Middle College on Thursday, Woodruff came back down to earth. The Wolverines lost 3-0 to the Mountain View Prep Stars on Monday. The Wolverines have struggled against the Stars recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

The match finished with set scores of 25-14, 25-17, 25-17.

Jensyn Turner paced Woodruff's offense, picking up nine kills. Turner got some help from Natalee Simmons and her nine assists. Finally, Jolin Pettay kept Woodruff's defense grounded, leading the team with two blocks.

Woodruff's defeat dropped their record down to 13-13. As for Mountain View Prep, they pushed their record up to 21-2 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Woodruff is set to challenge their familiar foe Chapman at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Mountain View Prep will take on rival Broome at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
