Baseball Recap: Sand Creek Takes a Loss

Sand Creek dropped their record down to 11-11 on Saturday, which also ended the team's three-game streak of wins. They lost 11-1 to the Madison Trojans. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Trojans this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 11-4 back in April.

As for Madison, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 20-4. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 15 matchups by six runs or more this season.

For Madison's part, Brian Dopp and Cameron Barber did most of the damage at the plate: Dopp got on base in all four of his plate appearances with three stolen bases, four runs, and one double, while Barber went a perfect 3-for-3 with three stolen bases, four RBI, and one run. That's the most stolen bases Barber has posted since back in April of 2024.

Sand Creek has already played their next contest (against Adrian), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Madison, they will challenge Dundee at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
