Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Liberty Ranch). Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Galt Warriors a 30-0 shutout on Tuesday. The Hawks haven't had any issues with the Warriors recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive victory against them.
Paityn Snow made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out seven over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in nine consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 4-for-5 with four runs, five RBI, and one triple. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Liberty Ranch got a massive performance out of Mariella Granata, who scored six runs and stole two bases while going 5-for-5. Those five hits gave Granata a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Khali Barrantes, who scored six runs and stole four bases while getting on base in four of her six plate appearances.
Liberty Ranch always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .673. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Galt only posted an OBP of .211.
Liberty Ranch's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-5. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.3 runs over those games. As for Galt, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-10.
