Eastern Regional is one of only 10 girls soccer programs being honored by America's premier high school sports tour during its celebration of 100 championship teams across the nation.

After arriving on campus at 9 a.m., the Tour of Champions began its day of celebrating with teammates, the coaching staff, students and various school administrators by setting up and displaying the eye-catching Minuteman trophy, which is officially known as the Army National Guard national ranking trophy.

Then, just before 11 a.m., Eastern Regional athletic director Jason Hill introduced MaxPreps representative Armand Milanesi, who kicked off the lunch assembly ceremony by emphasizing the grandness and notable achievement of winning a state title and earning the No. 9 national ranking. Milanesi also painted a picture of the dedication and determination that the Vikings displayed all season long and heading into their win over Bridgewater-Raritan.

Milanesi introduced Staff Sergeant Terrell Tyson of the New Jersey Army National Guard, who related how playing on a state championship soccer team correlates with being a soldier in the Army National Guard. SSG Tyson then presented the Army National Guard national ranking trophy to head coach Jamie McGroarty and the Vikings.

Congratulations to the Eastern Regional Vikings. Your outstanding display of determination, perseverance, leadership and dedication led you to a state championship and the No. 9 ranking out of 16,000 girls soccer teams nationally!
