Basketball Recap: Glenbard West Takes Down Batavia in a Playoff Battle

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Glenbard West had no problem doing just that on Thursday. They came out on top against the Batavia Bulldogs by a score of 48-39. This was payback for the Hilltoppers, who suffered a 63-50 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Batavia lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Kaidyn King, who shot 44% from the field on her way to 18 points. That's the most points she has posted since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Hallie Crane, who scored nine points.

Glenbard West is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 23-12 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.6 points over those games. With the loss, Batavia broke their five-game winning streak and moved their record to 24-10.

Coming up, Glenbard West will challenge Fremd at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Fremd comes in on 11 and Glenbard West on six. Batavia does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
