Softball Game Preview: Bakersfield Lions vs. Reeds Spring Wolves

The Bakersfield Lions are taking a road trip to face off against the Reeds Spring Wolves at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Bakersfield has given up an average of 10.5 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Having struggled with three defeats in a row, Bakersfield turned things around against Pleasant Hope on Friday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Pirates 13-12. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Lions have posted since March 16, 2024.

Meanwhile, Reeds Spring gave up the first runs on Monday, but they didn't let that get them down. They were the clear victors by a 15-1 margin over Seymour. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Wolves.

Reeds Spring got a massive performance out of Chloe Clevenger, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Madelyn Reynolds, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, one run, and one double.

Reeds Spring always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .605. The last time their OBP was this high was back in March.

The win was their first on the road , bumping their record up to 8-12. As for Bakersfield, they now have a winning record of 8-7.
