Basketball Game Preview: Atlantic Coast Stingrays vs. ED White Commanders

The Atlantic Coast Stingrays will challenge the ED White Commanders at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Atlantic Coast is headed into the game after thoroughly thrashing Baldwin: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Atlantic Coast blew Baldwin out of the water with a 49-21 final score. The Stingrays have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four contests by 26 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, ED White was able to grind out a solid win over Creekside on Monday, taking the game 55-48. The victory was all the more spectacular given the Commanders' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 360th, while the Knights are ranked 76th).

ED White's win came from a few key players Atlantic Coast will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Leandrea Mccloud, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 14 rebounds. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in assists (seven). Another player making a difference was Kyra Jackson, who went 6 of 13 en route to 20 points.

ED White pushed their record up to 6-10 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.0 points per game. As for Atlantic Coast, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 7-2 record this season.

Atlantic Coast skirted past ED White 55-52 in their previous matchup back in January of 2024. Will Atlantic Coast repeat their success, or does ED White have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
