Basketball Recap: Oswego Comes Up Short at Home Against Columbus

Oswego unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They were dealt a 74-40 loss at the hands of the Columbus Titans on Thursday. The Indians were down 55-33 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

Oswego's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Demitri Williamson, who posted 16 points and six steals, and Owen Jackson, who earned 11 points. Williamson is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in each of the last three games he's played dating back to last season.

Looking ahead, Oswego will be playing in front of their home fans against Riverton at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Columbus, they will venture away from home to square off against St. Mary's-Colgan on Thursday. The matchup will give the Titans their first taste of in-conference action this season.
