Softball Recap: Lakeville North Drops Season-High Score on Eagan

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Lakeville North). They walked away with a 9-6 win over the Eagan Wildcats on Thursday. This was a revenge game for the Panthers: when they faced off against the Wildcats back in April, they had to take a 5-1 loss.

Gabby Vang spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and three unearned) runs on six hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Addy Brandt and Alicia Jeanson did most of the damage at the plate: Brandt went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run, while Jeanson went 2-for-3 with three runs, one double, and one RBI. Those RBI were Brandt's first of the season. Lydia Rosin was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run.

Lakeville North hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They are 2-1 when they post two or more strikeouts.

Lakeville North's record now sits at 4-5. As for Eagan, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-5.

Coincidentally, Lakeville North and Eagan will both be playing Eastview the next time they take the field. The Wildcats will host the Lightning at 4:30 p.m. on Friday, while the Panthers will head out to face them at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
