Basketball Recap: Eastside Comes Up Short

Eastside was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 27th straight defeat dating back to last season. The game between the Eastside Blazers and the Churubusco Eagles didn't end well, with the Eastside Blazers falling 55-36. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Blazers of the 56-47 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in March of 2024.

Braylon McCoy went supernova for Churubusco, going 6-for-8 en route to 13 points in addition to five assists and five boards. The dominant performance also gave McCoy a new career-high in steals (five). Weston Ott was another key player, putting up 11 points.

Eastside's defeat dropped their record down to 0-22. As for Churubusco, they pushed their record up to 9-14 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home.

Eastside does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Churubusco, they will challenge Lakeland at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
