Football Recap: Central Cabarrus Comes Up Short

Central Cabarrus and Freedom squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Central Cabarrus had to settle for second. They were beaten by the Patriots 40-6. The contest marked the Vikings' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Kaden Davis had another great game (as he tends to do), rushing for 46 yards and a pair of touchdowns, while also throwing for 148 yards and two TDs for Freedom. Kobe Johnson was Davis' top target, picking up 62 receiving yards and one score, while also rushing for 64 yards.

Central Cabarrus' loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 5-7. As for Freedom, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 10-1.

Central Cabarrus does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Freedom, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Sun Valley at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Spartans' defense has only allowed 12.2 points per game this season, so the Patriots' offense will have their work cut out for them.
