Volleyball Recap: Centennial Takes a Loss

Centennial was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their 13th straight loss dating back to last season. They fell 2-0 to the Hillsboro Burros. If the Cougars were looking for revenge after losing 3-0 to the Burros when the teams met back in August of 2022, then they'll just have to keep looking.

The final score came out to 25-21, 25-14.

Hillsboro was led to victory by Eden Merryman and Bailey Evans. Merryman had eight digs, while Evans had ten assists and one block.

Centennial's defeat dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Hillsboro, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-2 record this season.

Centennial has already played their next contest, a 3-0 loss against Brentwood on the 9th. As for Hillsboro, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 2-0 defeat against University School of Nashville on the 6th.
