Tahlequah will head out on the road to square off against Coweta at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Tahlequah is coming into the matchup on a five-game losing streak.
Panama hit Tahlequah with a five-run fourth inning on Friday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Tigers fell 6-2 to the Razorbacks.
Meanwhile, Coweta can bid farewell to their four-game losing streak thanks to their game on Monday. They put the hurt on Nathan Hale with a sharp 14-1 victory. The result was nothing new for the Tigers, who have now won 13 games by seven runs or more so far this season.
Trace Hall was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
In other pitching news, Braxton Barnes looked comfortable as he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks any time he's pitched this season.
Back at the plate, Jackson Plyler was a standout: he went 3-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double. Coweta is 5-1 when Plyler posts two or more runs, but 12-13 otherwise. Sutter Winsworth was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI.
Coweta was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .444. The last time their batting average was this high was back in March.
Coweta's record is now 17-14. As for Tahlequah, their loss dropped their record down to 9-17.
Everything went Tahlequah's way against Coweta in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, as Tahlequah made off with a 10-2 win. Will Tahlequah repeat their success, or does Coweta has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
