Basketball Recap: Mountain View Comes Up Short

Mountain View was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were dealt an 86-54 loss at the hands of the Layton Christian Academy Eagles. While losing is never fun, the Bruins can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Utah basketball rankings (they are ranked 66th, while the Eagles are ranked fourth).

Despite the loss, Mountain View still got an impressive performance from Brennan Olsen, who posted 20 points. Jackson Sperry also deserves some recognition as he scored his first points of the season.

Layton Christian Academy's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Tyrin Jones, who made all 5 shots he took racking up 16 points and five rebounds. Another player making a difference was Samuel Obenjo, who almost dropped a double-double on 12 points and nine boards.

Mountain View's defeat dropped their record down to 7-10. As for Layton Christian Academy, their victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-8.

Mountain View has already played their next match (against Payson), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Layton Christian Academy has also has no score uploaded for their next contest, this one against Provo.
