Softball Recap: Oxbridge Academy Sets Scoring Season-High Against Clewiston

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Oxbridge Academy). They were the clear victors by a 17-1 margin over the Clewiston Tigers on Tuesday. The ThunderWolves might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven matches by nine runs or more this season.

Isabella Penbe looked comfortable as she pitched three innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Kaiya Glucksman, who scored three runs and stole two bases while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. Ella Bianco was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-4.

Oxbridge Academy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .650. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in three consecutive games.

Oxbridge Academy has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-4 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.0 runs over those games. As for Clewiston, their loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 1-11.

Oxbridge Academy will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Tigers: the pair will be back at it again later today.
