Football Recap: Pocatello Thunder vs. Twin Falls Bruins
Pocatello had lost five straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Friday they dropped down to 1-5 to make it six. They were outmatched by the Twin Falls Bruins and fell 44-14. The Thunder were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bruins apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.
As for Twin Falls, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 5-1. The victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 7.0 points on average over those games.
Twin Falls was led to victory by Jackson Sattelberg and Bryce Nielsen. Sattelberg rushed for 124 yards and one TD on only 15 carries, while Nielsen picked up 89 receiving yards and one score. Those 89 receiving yards gave Nielsen a new career-high.
Pocatello will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Preston at 7:00 p.m. on the 17th. As for Twin Falls, they will challenge Hillcrest at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
