Baseball Recap: Osseo Orioles vs. Spring Lake Park Panthers
Osseo had lost four straight at home, but on Tuesday they dropped their record down to 3-10 to make it five. They fell 6-2 to the Spring Lake Park Panthers. The Orioles were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Panthers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in May of 2024.
As for Spring Lake Park, they now have a winning record of 7-6. The win made it back-to-back victories for they.
For Spring Lake Park's part, Matthew Grundtner tossed a big game, striking out seven batters over six innings while giving up just two earned runs off five hits. Grundtner has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Colin Welch was excellent, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases and two runs. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Ben Balsimo also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.
