Softball Recap: Paulding Takes a Loss

After flying high against Tinora on Friday, Paulding came back down to earth. Paulding came up short against Parkway on Monday, falling 18-10. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat Paulding has suffered since May 8, 2024.

Civil Pumphrey led a balanced group of hitters, going 1-for-4 with one home run and four RBI. Isa Burtch also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen bases of the season.

With the loss, Paulding broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 7-5. As for Parkway, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-1.

Looking ahead, Paulding will venture away from home to take on Ayersville at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Pilots will roll in looking for their eighth straight victory, something the Panthers surely won't give up without a fight. As for Parkway, they will be playing at home against New Bremen at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Cardinals have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 10.22 runs per game on average), something the Panthers will no doubt try to take advantage of.
