Football Recap: M.L. King Skates Past Midtown with Ease + How To Watch

M.L. King never got on the board in their matchup last Thursday, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Midtown on Thursday. They took their matchup with ease, bagging a 40-6 victory over the Knights. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Lions' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia football rankings (they are ranked 144th, while the Knights are ranked 363rd).

M.L. King's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Javion Dobbs, who threw for 288 yards and three TDs while picking up 13.7 yards per attempt. Jamarcus Harper helped Dobbs out on the ground, rushing for 140 yards and one score on only 12 carries.

M.L. King's run defense was locked in: Midtown could only muster 1.1 yards per carry. While two picked up at least nine total tackles, Christopher Dupree stood above the rest. He made nine total tackles (3.0 for loss). M.L. King didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged 9.5.

M.L. King pushed their record up to 6-1 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 33.6 points over those games. As for Midtown, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-5.
