Softball Game Preview: Northview Vikings vs. Wilson Wildcats

For the second straight game, Northview will face off against Wilson. The Vikings will host the Wildcats at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Northview is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.5 runs per game this season.

Wilson will face off against a team with plenty of momentum: Northview extended their winning streak to three on Monday. The Vikings came out on top against the Wildcats by a score of 5-2.

Clementina Duran made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, she posted five strikeouts, the most she's had since back in March. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one triple.

In other pitching news, Annaliah Zuniga looked comfortable as she struck out six batters over four innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits (and not a single walk).

Back at the plate, the team relied heavily on Beatriz Diaz, who went 2-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run. Another player making a difference was Bella Ochoa, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Northview kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They are 12-1 when they post 11 or more hits.

Wilson has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost nine of their last ten matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-10 record this season. As for Northview, their win bumped their record up to 18-8-1.
