Baseball Game Preview: Fairview Eagles vs. Dawson-Bryant Hornets

The Fairview Eagles will face off against the Dawson-Bryant Hornets at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.

Fairview managed to slip by Green the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Eagles came up short against the Bobcats on Wednesday, falling 11-1. Having soared to a lofty 11 runs in the game before, the Eagles couldn't push the score so high this time.

Jeffery Everetts was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run. He is becoming a predictor of Fairview's success: when he posts at least two stolen bases the team is 7-3 (and 5-10 when he doesn't).

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Dawson-Bryant, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Wednesday. They put the hurt on South Gallia with a sharp 14-4 victory on Thursday. The Hornets haven't had any issues with the Rebels recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Fairview dropped their record down to 12-13 with the loss, which was their third straight at home. As for Dawson-Bryant, their victory bumped their record up to 8-14.

Fairview got the 'W' in their previous meeting back in May of 2023 against Dawson-Bryant by a conclusive 16-6 score. Will the Eagles repeat their success, or do the Hornets have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
