Baseball Game Preview: Lake Ridge Eagles vs. Boswell Pioneers

The Lake Ridge Eagles are taking a road trip to challenge the Boswell Pioneers at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Lake Ridge has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the match with three straight losses, while Boswell will come in with six straight wins.

Lake Ridge fell victim to Martin and their airtight pitching crew on Saturday. They took a 5-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Warriors.

Lake Ridge got a good showing from Hayden Jones, who tossed 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Jones has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits in nine consecutive appearances.

Meanwhile, Boswell had just enough and edged out Newman Smith 6-5 on Saturday.

Boswell's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 25-3. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Lake Ridge, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-14-3.

Lake Ridge came up short against Boswell when the teams last played back in March of 2024, falling 6-1. Can the Eagles avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
