Softball Game Preview: Milford Eagles vs. Loveland Tigers

Milford has gone a perfect 10-0 against Loveland recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Eagles will take on the Tigers at 4:30 p.m. Milford is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.6 runs per game this season.

Milford was handed a heart-breaking two-run defeat in their last game, but they sure didn't let that happen against Anderson on Friday. The Eagles put the hurt on the Raptors with a sharp 11-1 win. The high-scoring effort was just what the Eagles needed considering they were shut out in their previous matchup.

Ella Stein was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with one home run and three RBI. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high. Maddie Varner was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.

Milford hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post two or more strikeouts.

Meanwhile, Loveland lost 11-1 to Kings on Saturday. The Tigers haven't had much luck with the Knights recently, as the team has come up short the last nine times they've met.

Loveland saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Helena Keeton, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Milford's victory bumped their record up to 13-9. As for Loveland, their loss dropped their record down to 9-12.

Milford took their win against Loveland in their previous matchup back in April by a conclusive 14-8 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Eagles since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
