Basketball Recap: Walkertown Wolfpack vs. Morehead Panthers
Walkertown was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 31st straight defeat dating back to last season. They fell 51-38 to the Morehead Panthers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Panthers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 64-43 last Friday.
Leading Morehead to victory were Anahi Morales and Destiny Minter. Morales dropped a double-double with 21 points and ten rebounds, while Minter posted 18 points and eight boards. That makes it 14 consecutive games in which Minter has scored at least a third of Morehead's points.
Walkertown's loss dropped their record down to 0-12. As for Morehead, their victory bumped their record up to 4-16.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Walkertown will head out to square off against North Forsyth at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. North Forsyth will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Walkertown surely won't give up without a fight. As for Morehead, they will head out on the road to challenge McMichael at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
