Basketball Recap: Jefferson Independent Day Comes Up Short

Jefferson Independent Day lost against Exeter last Monday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Jefferson Independent Day Cavaliers lost 50-30 to the Exeter Tigers.

Despite the loss, Jefferson Independent Day saw an underclassman step up: freshman Anna Hiebert dropped a double-double with 14 points and 14 rebounds. Those 14 boards gave Hiebert a new career-high. Kiera Onyango was another key player, putting up eight points.

Jefferson Independent Day's defeat was their seventh straight at home, which dropped their record down to 4-18. As for Exeter, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 6-9.
