Baseball Recap: Blind Brook Victorious

While Blind Brook didn't have the best season last year (they finished 7-13), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They came out on top against the Briarcliff Bears by a score of 5-1 on Saturday. This was payback for the Trojans, who suffered a 5-0 loss the last time these two teams met.

Alex Schneider spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on six hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Jack Pastor was excellent, going 3-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Mason Florin also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

Blind Brook's win bumped their record up to 6-3. As for Briarcliff, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-4-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Blind Brook will take on Dobbs Ferry at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Briarcliff, they will face off against Putnam Valley at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. This will be the Bears' first chance to prove their worth in the conference.
